CAPM Practice: Demonstrate an understanding of a project management plan schedule

Finish-to-Start (FS) is by far the most common dependency type in project networks. It represents the natural sequential logic where one activity must be completed before the next can begin. Most project work follows this basic sequencing principle, making FS the default dependency type in schedule networks.

**Why not A:** Start-to-Finish (SF) is the least common dependency type and is rarely used in practice. It means the successor cannot finish until the predecessor starts, which is an unusual logical relationship that applies only in very specific scheduling scenarios.

**Why not C:** Finish-to-Finish (FF) means two activities must finish at the same time. While used in practice, it is much less common than Finish-to-Start. FF is typically employed when two parallel activities need to complete simultaneously, which is a less frequent scheduling need.

**Why not D:** Start-to-Start (SS) means two activities must start at the same time. It is used for parallel activities that need to begin together, but it is less common than the natural sequential Finish-to-Start relationship that governs most project work.
