Celine Popovic is leading a team member orientation at Zenith Medical. A new team member asks how projects serve as vehicles for change. What is the BEST explanation?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: Projects deliver new capabilities, products, or services that transition the organization to a desired future state.

Explanation

Projects are temporary endeavors that create unique deliverables, enabling organizational change by transitioning from the current state to a desired future state through new capabilities, processes, or outcomes.

**Why not A:** Documenting existing processes to ensure stability describes operational activities, not projects. Projects are specifically designed to create change and move the organization to a new state, not to maintain the current one.

**Why not C:** Maintaining current operations while minimizing disruption describes operational management. Projects inherently involve change, and while change management aims to minimize negative disruption, the project's purpose is to deliver new capabilities, not preserve the status quo.

**Why not D:** Training employees on current systems is an operational or continuous improvement activity. Projects deliver new capabilities that transition the organization to a desired future state, rather than simply improving efficiency with existing systems.
